We’re grateful to have Surendra, the leader of the Safe House ministry in Nepal, with us this morning.

Surendra will be sharing with us on Sunday morning and after second service, everyone is invited to join us for a Missions Lunch. This will be a great opportunity to hear more about what God is doing through the Safe House ministry and spend some time with Surendra.

We hope you’ll stay and join us for lunch.

And while we’re talking about the Safe House ministry, there’s another way you can encourage the girls in Nepal this Christmas.

If you haven’t picked up a photo yet, stop by the table in the entry today. Each photo represents one of the girls at the Safe House, and we’re inviting you to write her a personal Christmas card and, if you’d like, give toward gifts and needed items that will be purchased in Nepal.
Take the photo home with you and use it as a reminder to pray for her. Then bring your completed card back by next Sunday, October 11. If you have questions, Leah Duke can help you.

Registration is still open for our MS Fall Retreat happening October 23-25, 2026 at Big Sky Bible Camp! This is open to any 6th-8th grader in the Valley (not just Roots youth). The cost is $175 which covers food, lodging and transportation. (Scholarships are available) The registration deadline is this Sunday, October 4th, click the link below to sign up.

We are also looking for parents to help chaperone the retreat. If you are interested in chaperoning, click on the "Chaperone Squad" application link below.

For any Roots HS youth interested in serving at the retreat, please complete an application form below. Matt will be in touch.

October is Staff Appreciation Month here at Roots, and throughout the month we want to take some time to thank our pastors and staff and let them know how much we appreciate the ways they serve our church.

You’ll find cards on the table by the TV in the entry. Take one and write a note of thanks or appreciation to someone on staff. And we’d also invite you to think beyond our staff. If there’s someone who has blessed you through their ministry here at Roots, take a card and let them know.

When you’re finished, place your card in the basket on the table, and we’ll make sure it gets to the right person.

This Sunday, October 4, we’ll be joining churches from throughout the Bitterroot Valley for Life Chain. From 2:30 to 3:30pm, we’ll gather along Highway 93 for a peaceful, silent time of prayer as we remember lives lost to abortion and pray for the protection of unborn life.

Roots participants will meet at Lambros Realty next to Tire Rama at 2:15pm, and signs will be provided. We hope you’ll plan to join us as we gather with other believers from our valley to pray. If you have questions, talk with Bob or Megan DeJong.

There’s something special about having a part in helping children know and love the Lord. In Seedlings, we have the opportunity to come alongside parents as they teach their children God’s Word and encourage them to grow in their faith.

We’re looking for more people to join us in serving our kids on Sunday mornings. Whether you enjoy teaching or would rather serve alongside someone else in the classroom, there are different ways to be involved. Lessons and materials are provided, and we’ll help you get started.

If you’d like to invest in the next generation at Roots, we invite you to take that first step and learn more about serving in Seedlings.

There's a lot happening at Roots as we head into fall, and we'd really encourage you to find a place to be part of it. Take a look at the Get Involved page and see where the Lord might be leading you to get connected.

Youth Group is also back this week, with new hours this fall, meeting from 6:30 to 8:30pm each Wednesday. Students who have moved up into Youth Group can begin attending this week, so parents, be sure to make note of the new time.

Home Groups are a chance to take what we're learning on Sundays and continue the conversation during the week. You'll spend time in God's Word with others and build relationships that go beyond Sunday mornings. If you've been wanting to get more connected at Roots, we'd really encourage you to consider joining a Home Group this fall.

You've probably noticed our recent parking lot improvements as well as volunteers helping direct parking before each service. We kindly ask that you follow their directions as they help create room for guests and visitors.

We're also looking for a few more people to help with parking. If you're interested, stop by Michelle's desk in the entry after service.

Each Sunday morning at 8am, a group gathers to pray before first service. It's a time to pray for our church, our leadership, and the morning ahead. Everyone is welcome to join in, so if you'd like to come early and spend some time in prayer with others, we'd love to have you.

Just a reminder that we gather for Missions Prayer on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 7pm. This is a special time for us to come together and pray for our missionaries in Kosovo and Korea, and for the safe house in Nepal. We’d love for you to join us
as we lift them up, encourage one another, and trust God for His work around the world.
